Fall Rolling In

Labor Day Weekend around here confirms that summer is indeed over. Personally, I don't feel like it ever arrived. Seemed like one long Spring, a short burst of hot weather for maybe three days and then the crisp morning air of September. So the bad news, only 4 months left of 2009. The good news? Four months left in 2009. Time to rock them hard !

Starting a "To-Do List" for September
~Install Open Sim on desktop computer (try laptop too)
~Finish marketing plan for client
~Edit machinima files

Given I'll be heading to San Jose in 2 weeks for a conference, I think that is ambitious enough. If I overload myself, well, I'll get discouraged and give up. Okay Universe, there's the list, let's do it !  OH CRAP! Let's add one more just for me.....

~30 minutes of exercise minimum every day!

Sitting at a computer for 16-18 hours a day is not doing this body good. Argh.

Returning to Blogging

How the heck did I get so side-tracked? OMG, that would take forever for me to explain, so how about we just pick up right here.

Yes, I'm still exploring the metaverse. Perhaps even more fervently now. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that my "second life" is much like my "real life" in that I have become a "Jack of all trades, master of none". (That always seemed to have a negative connotation to it, but in truth, has served me well.)

I've learned to build and to make very simple scripts, but I haven't sold anything. I can whip up an awesome t-shirt in Photoshop, but haven't mastered creating really stunning designs. I've run large events, but not regularly enough. I've learned to make Machinima, but the story idea in my head remains there for now. I've tackled understanding role-playing as a method for enhancing creativity, creating multiple avatars to test various ideas. I successfully pulled a $2 billion worldwide corporation into SL singlehandedly, fought like hell to keep the project going (it still is, albeit not as I originally envisioned it, but it lives), and struggled to understand all the implications of the immersive internet for enterprise over the coming decade.

So, yes... a little side-tracked, but oh what a journey so far. Let's see where it goes from here.
